to Wiki on a Stick
Dear All,

I was searching for a such a wiki solution for my personal use and I
am happy that I got the right one. Now I am in the process of
transferring all my existing documents in to this. So far I used to
keep all my data in word files(with .DOC) extension. I have a lot of
doc files with pictures in it. When I do a copy&paste, it does not
copy the pictures from the word file. I am wondering is there any way
where I can import all those docs to Wiki along with those pictures?
(most of these pics are screen shots). Or converting those files to
wiki format and import it.

Please advice.

Thanks in Advance,

Vinu

you can have a stickwiki
which links to your existing *.doc files with the pictures in them
as a sort of super index,
using firefox to select the doc
you can copy the UrL of the doc from the address bar
and paste it into your wikistick
and put square brackets around it...
[[file:///D:/web/psb/dicenews.htm]]
works for me....

its also possible to put links into folders..
[[file:///D:/]]

im slowly converting to stickwikis too,
but have to slow down a bit...

Hi Vinu,

once you convert the .DOC files to .HTML you could them create a script
which imports the files into WoaS.

The import feature from HTML/XML is planned but not yet developed.
