Hi people,
first of all, I'm happy to see that WoaS is still continued, I see
great uses for it.
Currently, we are investigating the possibility of using Wiki's or M$
SharePoint for our company's host of documentation (targeted to
developers).
We've had our eyes on MediaWiki for some time now, but we would like
to make our information available off line to consultants as well.
WoaS would be great for that (we think).
Are there any efforts going on to export (parts of) MediaWiki into
WoaS(ses)?
If not, do you have any idea how big a challenge this would be?
Thanks,
Eling

Hi Eling,

ideally, WoaS will go towards WIF
(http://semanticweb.org/wiki/Wiki_Interchange_Format) in the development
of Wiki import/export features.

If you want to quickly develop a solution for your case (as the
development of WIF support in WoaS is not currently on the high priority
list), I would suggest to examine WoaS' syntax (close to WikiCreole) and
compare it to MediaWiki's one. Furthermore, you could look for software
which converts from/to MediaWiki vs WikiCreole, and easily adapt it to WoaS.

If you have further questions or need advices, please ask again on this
group.

Best regards,

Hi Daniele,
I love a challenge, so maybe I will indeed look at the syntaxes and at
how each product stores its info and then create a solution for it
myself.
Thanks for the info!
