Cycle hangars are a form of parking suitable in residential areas for commuters and leisure riders who need to store their bike on a long-term basis. They are:

 

• Sheltered - reducing weather-related wear and tear.
• Secure - reducing the risk of cycle theft.
• At street-level - removing the need to carry cycles into homes and up flights of stairs.

 

The locations will be selected based on resident demands. Sites which have sufficient requests and have suitable accessibility and safety will be shortlisted for implementation.

Spaces in these hangars will be free of charge for the first year (a £25 refundable key deposit per user is required) and subject to funding, subsidised in following years.
