Cycling active group - meet-up on Tu 23 May

Please see the message below from Sara, whom I met recently.

 

“Hi there, this is Sara (from Italy), new in the area and new in London. I’m a cycle tourist or let’s say a bike-packer most of the time, but also I’m a commuter. I sold my last car in 2015 and since then my only means of transport is a bicycle. I go everywhere, sometimes jumping on a train but still, I made my choice and I’m very happy about it. 

 

I have lived in many places since my graduation when I was based in Germany (that is where I learned about the possibility of commuting by bicycle back in 2002), then Italy (Turin, Milan, Bologna) and even Dubai where I used a Brompton most of the time to commute with the help of the metro-line. I contributed as volunteer in Milan to develop the new cycling plan and since I moved here to London I'm looking for an opportunity to inspire more people. So here I am. Ready to do as much as I can starting from the best practice and cycling every day to work (in whatever weather conditions). 

 

Improve the perception of cycling in the place where we live, and create initiatives that can inspire people to use bicycles as a means of transport. Have fun and ride. Health and cycling. All are topical issues, but what if we work together on a small but shared project? Maybe something new and good can happen around us. Who would like to join a small and active new born group? We will meet at 6pm on Tuesday 23rd May at  Spotted Dog 15 Longbridge Rd, Barking, IG11 8TN.
