The countdown has begun.......6 days to go........
With some teams holding secret practice sessions to select their final 6 and a disappointed few who didn’t make it threatening to stage a “cross-over” (of course a few may be entitled to, after sitting for the same exam several times over!), the Cricket 6’s-fever is now on!
And its promising to be more than just cricket! After all Cricket is merely an excuse for true ‘blue & black’ blooded Thomian families to simply have a blast!
With two Live Bands (Dream Team and Super Pink & Purple) revving up the music throughout the day (in addition to the Papares), kiddies play areas, games stalls and delicious food on offer, the event promises to be a buzzing party - with some batches even organizing their batch re-unions with families at the grounds.
The Senior Thomian Icons will play for the “Grand Masters Trophy” and the rest, for the “Class of 90 Challenge Trophy”. Roll Call will be at7.45am on Saturday the 25th September at Big Clubs – come rain or shine. Late comers will be put on ‘Detention’..... no Scooting allowed!
Many who excelled in sports other than cricket will also take the field to prove their mettle with the willow - with some former Oarsmen attempting to rely on the Cox to guide them at cricket and Ruggerites planning to use the Hooker to tackle the umpires! The organisers are aware of challenges thrown among the batches and have set-up an “Anti-Corruption Unit” consisting of Col Cops of your era to prevent any ‘Fixing’. So watch your No Balls!
Some non-players have even inquired whether they could be ‘cheer leaders’. Yes you can! But watch your attire?!@!
Hope to see all Thomians and their families at this Cricket Party in full Thora Force at the Big Clubs, 8 am onwards. Please forward the message to all Thomians.
