Now that our President is breaking previous agreements approved even
since the first of this year, turning down all deals for any sort of
munitions for Israel, and most recently, so the above source alleges,
diverting a shipload of smart bunker-buster bombs meant for storage in
Israel, to a Navy base at Diego Garcia--a coral atoll in the Indian
Ocean--it is Deja-Vu all over again, baby.
In every major war fought by Israel, ever since the first war of
Independence in 1948, Uncle Sam has done all he can to keep Israeli
hands tied behind an Israeli back, and all the while trumpeting the
empty, hypocritical, mendacious claim that the U.S. is Israel's
biggest friend. There stands Hillary on the AIPAC dais this very
morning stating the claim that American/Israeli friendship is
"ironclad" while she does the dirty, duplicitous work of an
administration that turns a dead, blind eye on the defense
requirements of a "friend" in its hour of greatest threat. The words
of a favorite author come to mind, those of T.C. Boyle . . .
"With friends like these, who needs an enema?"
Let's just have us a quick and dirty little review of the history
behind this so-called "friendship" beginning with the Israeli War of
Independence . . .
http://www.mideastweb.org/us_supportforstate.htm reports the case as
it existed in '48 . . .
"On December 5, the US declared an arms embargo in the Middle East,
which prevented the Jews from getting arms, but did not affect
contracts of the Arab states with Great Britain. The stand of
President Truman on this embargo is unclear. Having withdrawn the
means of defense, the State Department then tried to prove that the
Jews would not be able to defend themselves in case of Arab attack."
On the very eve of the Six Day War the administration of Lyndon Baines
Johnson pulled the same, ever so friendly stunt . . .
"Then, when the war began, the State Department announced: "Our
position is neutral in thought, word and deed."(17) Moreover, while
the Arabs were falsely accusing the United States of airlifting
supplies to Israel, Johnson imposed an arms embargo on the region
(France, Israel's other main arms supplier also embargoed arms to
Israel). By contrast, the Soviets were supplying massive amounts of
arms to the Arabs. Simultaneously, the armies of Kuwait, Algeria,
Saudi Arabia and Iraq were contributing troops and arms to the
Egyptian, Syrian and Jordanian fronts.(18) On June 5, 1967, Israel was
indeed alone.
http://www.jewishvirtuallibrary.org/jsource/History/67_War.html is the
source for those facts, which are corroborated here:

. . .
"US under Johnson imposed an arms embargo on Israel and all of the
Middle East . . . France - Israel's main arms supplier also placed an
embargo on Israel."
And those embargoes both American and French remained in effect right
on up into the Yom Kippur War. Then, when Israelis were running out of
bullets, Moshe Dayan gave old Tricky Dick a buzz to read him the riot
act. Those Israeli nukes that Nixon had such a big objection to, which
stood as his reason for continuing the Johnson embargo--not against
the Arabs, but only on Israel--well, as to those?
Dayan made it crystal clear that if it were true, these rumors that
Israel had such a nuclear defensive capacity--what else but of course
they would HAVE to be used to prevent the massacre of Israelis that
the Arabs were screaming as bloody promises over the radio non-stop
into the ears of every Israeli man, woman and child.
What else? If such things were really there under the sands at
Dimona, they would have to come up full blast, being revealed for
something far more real than mere rumor--unless those U.S. arms that
had long been on order were loaded for immediate delivery. Those arms
were soon on the way. It has always been Israeli policy never to
officially acknowledge the existence of those nukes, and so we see by
this how so very much may be said by innuendo, as much was, by Dayan
on that fateful day, when he assured Nixon that Israelis, shall we
say, "will do whatever they have to do" to defend their nation against
such a Soviet armed gang-up as they were faced with on that day--
again.
On that day or any day. Today they call that brutal gang-bang a
"meeting of the Quartet." And now, as to those settlements that are
so greatly being objected to by people and politicians around the
world who haven't a clue about Jews *doing what they have to do* when
it comes to survival in such a friendly world? Well! Let us now have
a little look-see at Israeli reasons for the annexation of East
Jerusalem, the reasons you just never hear stated, as the Israeli
voice is always being shouted down by all the rest of this ever so Jew-
friendly world, before any part of an Israeli word is heard. But as to
those reasons why Israel has no intention of letting any part of
Jerusalem fall ever again into Arab hands:
From the same Wikipedia page . . .
"Jerusalem, ignored by the Tel Aviv elite, lay in a divided and
sometimes quixotic state. Jordanian soldiers would fire on tourists
taking pictures of them; adventurous scavengers sometimes stepped on
land mines in the no-man's-land; Israeli Arabs could only meet their
Palestinian relatives at irregularly determined times in a square
between the Mandelbaum Gate and its Jordanian counterpart; and the
Western Wall was open only to foreign tourists, not even to the most
pious Israeli.[3] The Jewish Quarter of the Old City, under Jordanian
control, was scheduled to be turned into a park. Fifty-two of the
fifty-three synagogues in the Quarter were razed and turned into
henhouses or horse stables.[4]"
