Sterling Downs Neighborhood Association

This is a moderated e-mail group for members of the Sterling Downs Neighborhood Association (SDNA), which serves all who live and work in the area between Highway 101, Old County Road, Ralston Ave, and Sterling View Avenue in Belmont, CA. Please provide your street address for membership.

The Sterling Downs Neighborhood Association (SDNA) Google Group, serves all who live and work in the area that extends from Highway 101 to the East, Old County Road to the West, Ralston Ave to the South, and Sterling View Avenue to the North in Belmont, CA. Your street address is tracked so that we can connect neighbors directly with each other when necessary.

The purpose of this googlegroup is to share information via e-mail that is of specific interest to those in the neighborhood. SDNA Google Group Posting Rules (Effective May 14, 2024):

1. The Google Group is limited to all who live and work in the area between Highway 101, Old County Road, Ralston Ave, and Sterling View Avenue in Belmont, CA.

2. Access is limited to registered members of the Google Group, who provide their address as confirmation they live or work in the neighborhood.

3. All messages sent to sterlingd...@googlegroups.com may be moderated or screened to eliminate duplicate postings or any messages that violate any of these rules. Such messages may be rejected and not posted to the list.

4. A clear and concise label of the posting shall be put on every posting in the Subject line. The Subject of your message must be related to your topic.

5. In general, all messages should be strictly informational, and be about our neighborhood, community or local school(s), not about other locations. We encourage you to provide some context for the group at the beginning of your e-mail about why you feel it is relevant when sending your e-mail.

6. Please note that the Google Group is not a discussion list - you may invite people to reply directly to you for further dialogue or information. We encourage you to use NextDoor, Facebook, or other forums for dialogue or general questions.

7. The Mailing List system should not be regarded as a secure system and should never be used for anything that is confidential in nature. As such, we discourage you from including personal information like addresses or phone numbers.

8. Information generated on the list is for the sole use and benefit of the registered users of the list. List participants shall not forward or otherwise distribute Mailing List messages and/or attachments to those who are not registered on the list unless they have permission of the message originator.

9. The following material is inappropriate and may not be posted to the Mailing List system:
Obscene, offensive, inflammatory, libelous, derogatory, or any language directed to harm someone or group personally.
Copyrighted material shall not be posted without permission by the owner of the material.
Political commentary or solicitations for money.
Advertising, with the exception being for businesses in or around the neighborhood that have opportunities or discounts specific to those in the Sterling Downs neighborhood

10. Any violations of the above rules will be taken seriously. The Sterling Downs Neighborhood Association (SDNA) Board, or any individual(s) or committee members appointed by the SDNA Board, will serve to enforce these rules. Sanctions can include a warning, suspension of privileges or removal from the Google Group. In the event the SDNA Board has delegated the management of the Mailing List system to an individual(s) or a committee, an individual whose privileges have been affected may appeal a decision to the full Board, upon which the decision will be considered final.

11. The SDNA Board reserves the right to amend, modify or supplement these Google Group rules at any time.
