"BRUVS" and "RUVS" trademarks

Hi all,

I was working on a review on underwater video techniques in coastal marine science through times and I asked myself about the terminology to adopt to designate each technique.

So, as asked by Tim, and following a discussion with Mike Cappo, you’ll find below informations related to the trademarks on “BRUVS” and “RUVS”.

AIMS took out ownership of a “trademark” on “BRUVS” and “RUVS” in 2009.

BRUVS = Baited Remote Underwater Video Stations
RUVS = Remote Underwater Video Stations

Just to let you know that AIMS will not pursue anyone who does not use the “TM” or “R” symbol in papers on “BRUVS” or “RUVS” and that the ownership was wanted by AIMS to use these things as a competitive advantage to recognise the intellectual input when applying for external grants (eg the oil+gas industry.
