| It isn't hard to find a manager but a good one isn't that easy to come by. One thing you will need is some way that a potential manager can hear a sample of your music. When you have that in place let me know so that I can send it to a few good managers for you. Floyd Schofield --- On Sun, 11/2/08, Kira <K.kir...@gmail.com> wrote: |

Hi everyone!
I am looking for a good manager in Los Angeles! Can anyone please help with this? www.myspace.com/emmanueldagher

I agree. I have learned that the music business thrives on relationships; building and maintaining them. Music biz execs tend to be very busy folks. This guy started this group as a way to give back others without charging a fee. Do NOT start out by burning bridges! LiL'BiT

You must be patient. I try to answer as fast as I possibly can but it isn't always as fast as people like. You must remember that I have to run a consultant firm; I have to deal with and represent 7 platinum celebrities; and I have to answer to 4 major labels daily. My schedule is crazy but I still get to as many questions as I possible can. No matter what you choose to do, you must work on your patience if you re going to succeed this industry.
As for your question, in this day and time labels want to sign artists that have the full package. They are not using their money to develop artists anymore. If you don't have great song writing skills, find a person who do. You can find song writers that will work with you almost anywhere. Post on craigslist and myspace, that may help. Mr. Schofield,
Sorry for the delayed response. You are very welcome.
As for my projects, things are not working as fast as I would like them to. Patience, right? I’ve gotten some outside help on a few issues, but for the most part, I’m in this all alone. I’m managing myself, which is extremely difficult, but I’m learning a whole lot along the way.
Hope I don’t regret this later down the road, but I kind of shied away from the major company that approached me a few months ago. After doing some research, I found out that all of their artists and songwriters are in the Country music arena; I know that Rissi Palmer is doing big things right now (she’s the first Black female to have a big hit on the Country charts), but I feel that I’m definitely more urban/pop.
In addition, I been approached by several indies, a major distributor, management companies, and countless producers (at least 50), and cover bands since mid-July, all from MySpace site. So handling all this while trying to find a steady corporate gig to finance everything has been overwhelming. But I keep pressing on because I truly believe in the product I offer.
Do you have any advice on how artists can manage themselves efficiently until a deal happens, yet still have time to actually make music?
Sorry for being so wordy tonight!
Thanks a mil,
LiL’BiT (www.myspace.com/msLiLBiT)
P.S. I written over 100 songs in the last two years, but they all have the same sound quality as “Rebound Love” (ruff drafts recorded in my tiny apartment) so I’m waiting for a opportunity to record them better before I post them online.

| The best route for you to go is to get a music publishers that have experience, a track record, and specialize in placing music in films, commericials, movies, etc. For commercials you can also contact advertising companies that produce TV commercials. From my experience, I would contact a publisher in L.A. Floyd Schofield |
