Dear USciences Students:

Welcome back from your Winter Break!  I hope that this message finds you getting adjusted to the new semester.  The Department of Student Life is continuing this year’s Leadership Series entitled,  iLEAD:  Applying Leadership in Everyday Life.  It is NOT TOO LATE to get involved.  This year’s series is intended to assist students in developing or honing their leadership skills for use in their personal, academic and professional lives.  As such we created iLEAD based upon the Social Change Model (SCM) of Leadership.  Next week we have the next  installment of the series, COLLABORATION.

Those dates are as follows:

Thursday January 23rd             4:00pm                 Wilson 205-208

and again…

Friday January 24th                   2:00pm                 Wilson 205-208

We really hope that you will consider attending.  Previous participants reported that they found it useful and helpful.

For those of you who have been unable to attend one of the previous meetings, all participants that are able to attend 6 or more of the 8 installments will be qualified to be a graduate of the series.  You can also attend 5 topical sessions and an “other” event (Alumni Dinner, FYLC and various community service projects) to get 6 credits towards graduation. Each installment or “C”  will be offered twiceEach graduate will be eligible for the following:

  1.  To receive a certificate of completion
  2. Be invited to our series recognition night in March/ April
  3. Be acknowledged during the Leadership Awards Banquet in April
  4. To apply to serve as a Leadership Assistant (LA) for the future

In addition, 10 of the iLEAD participants will be considered to attend / be sponsored for this year’s Inclusive Leadership Conference at Temple University in February.  Attached you will find a copy of the iLEAD 3.0 Brochure and Poster.  Enjoy the weekend and feel free to contact me directly (s.fe...@usciences.edu) with any questions that you may have.

Take care,

Susanne
