Greetings,
May is National Blood Pressure Education Month. Did you know that HealthStreet offers FREE blood pressure screenings everyday? Stop in to receive your blood pressure check and be informed about blood pressure and how it impacts your overall health.
Due to an overwhelming demand, we are holding the FREE Beginner’s Low Impact Exercise Class on both Tuesdays and Thursdays at 2pm. Toni Hinson, RN will provide tips to help you reach your personal fitness goals! Ages 18-65 invited to participate.
Wednesday May 8th is National Bike to School Day. Individuals from schools and communities across the United States are biking to school to get needed physical activity while improving neighborhood connections. Biking is fun and can contribute to a cleaner environment by reducing traffic congestion and air-polluting emissions. Stay tuned for information regarding local bike rodeos and other biking activities in your area!
Join the UF Interdisciplinary Family Health Program (IFH)! Do you ever wonder if your health care provider knows how hard it is for you to follow his/her directions? Have you ever felt your health care provider might “see the whole picture” better if he/she just met the rest of your family? IFH is in need of teaching families to help train medical, dental, pharmacy, and other health professions students to be more compassionate, family-oriented health care providers. Stop in to HealthStreet on Thursday 5/9 and 5/16 at 5:30pm to learn more about how to be involved in this wonderful community program!
Elder Options is hosting a Savvy Caregiver Training at HealthStreet on Thursday 5/16 at 5:30pm! This session provides helpful tips for persons who care for a loved one with some form of dementia or Alzheimer's. Join us in exploring ways to become a more effective caregiver and lessen the stress for you and your loved one.
Monday May 20th is World Autoimmune Arthritis Day. Join us for a Virtual Convention for educational and awareness information on the following diseases: Lupus, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Psoriatic Arthritis, Sjogren's Syndrome, Juvenile Arthritis, and Ankylosing spondylitis.
Stay tuned for additional activities in the Month of May!
