The link in the press release below provide this information about the agenda item for today’s meeting that includes discussion of the Koppers site-

 

Agenda Item Name:

Future Development of Cabot Koppers and the 8th & Waldo Corridor

Presenter:

Item Description:

Victus Advisors has been notified of the request for a business plan and pro forma for the City Event Center at

the Martin Luther King site and the Ball Fields plan at the Cabot Koppers site. Victor Advisors stated they need

a great deal of definition and detail on the plans and expectations for the two sites before they will be able to

submit an adequate consultation quote. The County is waiting on the City of Gainesville to provide the

information in order for Victus Advisors to complete their quote.

Recommended Action:

Discuss the future development of Cabot Koppers and the 8th & Waldo Corridor.

Prior Board Motions

At the 1:30 PM May 7, 2019 Special Board meeting, Commissioner Byerly moved to (1) direct staff to engage

Victus in an analysis of the Celebration Pointe site and include as needed a range of public private ownership

models and to work with Celebration Pointe Community Development District. (2) prepare a business plan/pro

forma operational model for all three sites (Celebration Pointe, Martin Luther King, Cabot Koppers Sites). (3)

draft an interlocal agreement for consideration by the County Commission on the use of CRA and Wild Places

Public Places Funds in the Citizens’ Field (Martin Luther King) and Cabot Koppers Sites including a timeline.

(4) Prepare a Chair Letter requesting that the interlocal agreement in part 3 of the motion to be the topic of the

joint June 3rd City/County meeting.

6-3-19 Joint Alachua County and City of Gainesville Special Meeting

 

May 31, 2019

2:15 p.m.

County CommissionALACHUA COUNTY, FL - The Alachua County Commission and City of Gainesville Commission will hold a Joint Special Meeting on Monday, June 3, 2019. The meeting begins at 3 p.m., in the Jack Durrance Auditorium (Room 209), located on the second floor of the Alachua County Administration Building (12 S.E. 1st Street, downtown Gainesville).

The meeting agenda includes:

  • Future development of Cabot Koppers, and the 8th and Waldo Corridor

The public is invited to attend the meeting. It will be available to view live on Facebook, Cox Channel 12, and the County's Video on Demand website.
