Hi all,
Wow, the group has been really quiet, especially since we just got a
bunch of hoya cuttings.

I have two cuttings that I'm not sure are going to make it. This will
be my second try at H. lambii and the only leaf the cutting had has
fallen off. I'm going to wait and see if the bare stem miraculously
sprouts some growth.

The other cutting is H. 'Welsh Mountain Zoo'. It too only has only one
leaf and that leaf is yellowing along with the the upper part of the
stem. This particular cuttings was only about 6" long, which is the
smallest cutting I have ever received the Liddle's, but again, this is
the first time Iris has filled the orders. I'll wait and see if the
remaining stem sprouts some growth.

It's funny, I've heard folks say that hoyas are just weeds in their
native habitat, so they should be really easy to grow. I think the
weeds in Australia, or the tropics, for that matter, are not as weedy
as the weeds in the temperate parts of the world. (:o) If I could
only get my hoyas to grow like dandelions! (:o)

How are your cuttings doing?
Thanks,
Mike

Hi Mike,

I agree the group has been quite slow,in fact it's all but dead I
think!!!! There's been so little action within the group for the past
2 years that at one point I really thought it needed to just be shut
down. Although I am listed in the management section as the group
owner,I can not close it because Sara is actually the one who created
it to begin with and only she has the ability to shut it down. She's
just disappeared so it looks like the group will remain open.

My hoya cuttings from Iris are all doing great. I did loose one and
another doesn't look too well but I received 23 varieties on my order
so the loss of 1 (possibly 2) is not bad!!! All of them have rooted
so far with the exception of 4.

Hi David,
Yea! There is life out there!!! (:o)

Wow, all but 4 are rooted already? That's really fast rooting! My H. inflata has the starting of a root, but it is certainly not rooted. My H. lambii is gone. I'll have to order it from a US supplier. I think the H. Welsh Mountain Zoo is also gone. Oh well, I didn't really have room for it anyway!

I'm glad you're still here. Hopefully, others will chime in as well.
Thanks,
Mike
