Hi Eva,
Here is some information you could share with people who might be willing to host a live interactive session -- either text-based chat, or webinar (with audio and video) -- during our fair.
ISEEK will host an online career fair in manufacturing during the last week in October. General info about the fair is contained in the attached flyer. I'm looking for folks who would be willing to host an online interactive session for any one hour at any point during that week, on any topic related to MN manufacturing careers! :-) The topic could be self-promotion (e.g. "Check out our great business!" or "The fabulous programs at XYZ College"), or something more general but useful to job seekers and/or students ("How to choose your career direction in Minnesota manufacturing" or "Trends"); or it could simply be left wide open -- we'd promote a person's name and title, and have anybody attend with any questions about MN MFG careers that come to mind. This career fair is a high profile event and will get a fair amount of promotion, so it's a very good opportunity for the presenters.
We're looking for businesses, training providers, workforce counselors, other industry experts -- many people have information to offer our attendees! We are marketing this to students, potential students, and job seekers, from high school age on up. Eva, I'm particularly writing to you for help lining up somebody to talk to girls and women about manufacturing careers.
Folks can do this from the comfort of their office or home, anywhere they have internet access. The chat technology, as you may know, is a text-based interaction, an interactive, real-time conversation through typing, with multiple people. We also have the option to host a webinar, meaning there would be a visual / video and audio component over the internet, in addition to a text-based interaction. The ability to show, see, and talk is better for some people and for some topics. In either case, the technology is relatively simple so there's little ramp-up time. We won't ask them to follow with anybody after the hour is up. The point is to connect with participants wherever their questions are, so the preparation requirements for hosts are intended to be low.
We are hoping to wrap up scheduling of the sessions by the end of September. Sessions are going fast, so contact us soon! Reach me by email or phone using contact info below.
Thanks for your consideration,
Jamie
