A twofer announcement. 

First is an article recommended by Jim Drake of Lake Superior College. Should be of interest to all on these lists (and I apologize for duplicate postings).

I just finished reading an article in Scientific American, February, that you might be interested in given the topic of the workshop mentioned below. 

The article is titled “How Science Degrees Stack UP”, with a web site mentioned: http://www.scientificamerican.com/article.cfm?id=graphic-science-science-tech-jobs-enticing ; there is a link at the bottom of this page that has the article’s data sets with graphics: http://www.scientificamerican.com/article.cfm?id=how-science-degrees-stack-up.

There are interesting correlations with business and management in this data set depiction, as well. The main theme is STEM disciplines, but there is a strong gender message as well.
