Good afternoon:

On behalf of NAPE Educational Foundation President, Mary Wiberg,
(http://www.napequity.org/foundation/page.php?5 ) and the
Foundation CEO, Mimi Lufkin, I am pleased to inform you that the
National
Alliance for Partnerships in Equity Educational Foundation has received
a
grant award from the National Science Foundation Division of
Undergraduate
Education in the amount of $885,692 over three years.

This project, entitled "EDUCATORS' EQUITY in STEM ACADEMY" has an award
date effective August 1, 2011 and expires July 31, 2014. We want to
thank you
all for your support.

The goal of the Educators’ Equity STEM Academy (EE-STEM Academy) is
to
increase the recruitment, academic performance, and program completion
of a
greater number of women and underrepresented students in selected
technician
education science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM)
courses
and programs by providing a professional growth opportunity for
community
college faculty and secondary teachers that will improve classroom
pedagogy.
The National Alliance for Partnership in Equity Education Foundation
(NAPEEF) together with the Community College of Baltimore County
(CCBC),
Baltimore County Public Schools (BCPS) and two regionally-based ATE
Centers
(CyberWatch - cyber security, and TIME - manufacturing) and have
created the
EE-STEM Academy project to deliver five days of rigorous instruction
followed by a year of facilitated coaching and high quality resources
to
improve classroom pedagogy. The Maryland State Department of
Education
Division of Career and College Readiness under the direction of
Katharine
Oliver also played a critical role in the success of this project.

Special thanks go to our partners at the Community College of
Baltimore
County, the Women of TI (also known as the creators of High Tech High
Heels), and our thought leader Jo Sanders (and her protégé Daniel
Brown)
whose inspiration, dedication, and belief in the possibilities for the
world
with girls full engagement and leadership in science, technology,
engineering, and mathematics made this important effort possible.

We look forward to continuing our work with you all.

Have a great weekend.
