Good evening:

On behalf of NAPE Educational Foundation President, Mary Wiberg, and the
Foundation CEO, Mimi Lufkin, I am AGAIN pleased to inform you that the
National Alliance for Partnerships in Equity Educational Foundation (http://www.napequity.org/foundation/page.php?5 ) has
received a grant award from the Motorola Foundation in the amount of $50,000
over one year to engage students and teachers in innovative, hands-on
activities. (http://www.napequity.org/files/PR%20Grant%20Rollout%20Announcment_08.11.pdf )

The Foundation, in partnership with Elgin, Ill. School District U-46, will
engage administrators, counselors and faculty in intensive professional
development to implement research-based practices and increase access,
success and post-secondary transition of girls in STEM subjects.

Special thanks go to our colleagues in Illinois, especially Debbie Hopper,
NAPE's past president, for their leadership and support in making this
project real.

We recognize also that for this project, as well as the others mentioned
this past week, there are many unsung heroes. Be assured, we are focused on
ensuring your hard work is recognized and becomes reality through the
success of the educators and students who will benefit from your dedication
and passion.

Thank you all again,

Have a great week.
