Dismiss the Search by clicking the 'x' on the right side, then select the Project "layer" (at the very top of the Layers List). Confirm that you have 3 drop zones that are in the Published Parameters list.

If you want to customize this a little more, you can publish the Scale and Pan X,Y Parameters of each drop zone. You can publish the values, then go into the Project inspector and click and drag the added parameters up into their proper position with their corresponding drop zone.

8 years ago puts that template on the cusp of Motion 4/Motion 5... Which version of Motion was it created in? Did you open the template in Motion and Save it back out again? FCPX requires files created in Motion 5.0 or higher to work. Fortunately, Motion will open templates **all the way back**!

Motion should have automatically published the drop zone(s). Before you upload it anywhere - who published it? are the still around to contact? I really shouldn't "touch it" because it's somebody else's copyright design. Do you have Motion? I'll step you through the procedure to publish parameters.

I purchased this template from Digital juice and it was a part of the DVDs . They are no longer have any physical product. Its subscription, and I have all the rights to it and share with people for support.

I do have Motion 5, I clicked "Publish" and designated the custom folder in Generator section, and waitted for 5 minutes until complete. Maybe the drop zones in Motion 4 were different? I am not that savi in Motion.

Many companies are switching to subscriptions, which I am trying to avoid if its possible, including Red Giant, Boris FX and others. There is a long list, don't even remember all of them. Some have option buy out or subscribe and some subscriptions only.

I explained to one of the companies, why I do not support subscriptions any more. A few years ago, my credit cards were hacked a few times, go and figure, which company had bad encryption. But thats not the only problem. I know I am protected by a bank, but getting a new card and calling all the companies or going online to update my payment information was a pain in the but!

"V-Zone" is simply what DJ renamed the original "Drop Zone". You are allowed to rename any layer, filter, behavior, etc... If you're converting older Motion templates, the layer object's icon will clue you in on the purpose (the downward arrow "badge" on the icon for Drop Zones is generally easy to pick out.)

I didn't see the original template to determine which version it was, but I'm pretty sure it's a Motion 4 template (might even be older than that!) Any Motion 5 template should have automatically published the drop zones (unless they were purposefully unpublished).

The templates were created in 2011, because it says in the info screen. I tried to publish using Motion 5, no drop zone show up. So your way, to do it manually, V-Zone first and then the template itself worked. Come and think of it last year I had a similar isuue and someone in my office fixed it. I did not ask, maybe it was the same way.
