I am using a RC version of 3.3.0, the release has not been made public yet, I notice it has option to utilise the USB port (supporting G3) to optionally host FTP to a USB hard drive plugged into the router USB port.
I can't get it to work with MNF either. If anyone can I would be eternally grateful if they could post the settings, both under VOIP>SIP Accounts and VOIP>Phone settings and VOIP>Phone settings>VOIP>advanced. TIA,
If they were going to do that they'd have done it by now. One must assume they're just rubbing your nose in it. What other purpose does joaogti's post above have other than 'I've got it and you havent'.
Well, normaly drayek is not so fast in releasing new firmwares. And i find it a bit strange that for example you have to email a ( local ) vendor, to receive it..
Why not put it on websites i wonder...
By the way, the local vendor here advised me to completely factory reset the 2820 after the new firmware is/was loaded, and not to load back your saved config.
I did not do that by the way, but that might be something to consider when loading a new firmware ?
Yes please! I'm was purposely holding off installing installing the release candidates until in the hope the final was released soon (I don't need any surprises of the RC, regardless of how stable they are)
It doesn't work for me. My router reports that the firmware filename is invalid and it doesn't want to upgrade to the newest version. I guess I'll have to wait for the firmware release on the official DrayTek site.
I see that firmware 3.3.2 RC1 is now available on the Draytek UK site. No release notes yet.

I must concur with MopoGT above about the 3.3.2 RC1. It is much better than 3.3.0. Especially the Wireless function. I would urge people who are using Wireless not to upgrade from 3.2.1 to 3.3.0, because it will get worse. I would suggest to wait until the official 3.3.x release.
so, i've tried the 3.3.1 RC7. Hmm... nothing really changed. The DHCP WLAN Problem seems to be still there. I've tried to connect with my laptop via WLAN and a MAC-binded IP-Adress. It took an extremly long time to connect...
so, then i tried the 3.3.2 RC1 firmware. until now, it looks perfect. fast dsl connection,
my laptop reconnected fast and get the right binded IP-Adress. and of course, the USB-Disk FTP-Feature works very well.
But there's another big Bug, i only Allowed "Management over Interner" for the FTP Server on Port21, but the Internal Webserver on Port80 is also available from the Internet-Side. And, i had a Portredirect of Port80 to a small internal Webserver, this Redirect doesn't work... So, let us wait... :-(
and, i don't checked the "HTTP-Server" because i don't want that anyone can login to my router, or get the chance to try it. ok, but, a Port-Forwarding from Port 80 to a internal Webserver don't work. when you deactivate the "Allow management from the Internet" then the Port-Forwarding of Port80 works well. But for FTP-Access via Internet you have to activate them.
I noticed another problem with Wifi. When i set my channel to Auto, it does not go to, or is aut. finding a clear frequency/channel.
So , i did a scan with a laptop, and found a rather 'polluted' RF space , all stations that do not show upp when i do a AP scan on the 2820vn.
Its really a new one from 31th december 2008. Actually its from yesterday, but it was backdated. This new Firmware includes the WLAN-Module-Software 1.4.0.0 and solved a WLAN DHCP problem i've got with older G- and B- Devices. If anyone also have problems with WLAN, i can upload it so everyone can test it...
I am having recurrent drops and failure of DHCP on the router with an intel wireless 3945abg card in a dell xps m1330. I believe the 3.3.0 firmware is responsible. Will the beta work for routers from the UK?
Just wondering if anybody know if there is a difference between the .rst file and the .all file.
Are they really different files, or is it just the extension? Can you rename a .rst to .all and still get it to work properly?
As mentioned above just save your settings before updating with the .rst file and then restore your settings afterwards from the file you saved from the previous version. I've done that several times with no issues.
the problem is, that for example in the last firmeware i posted, the wlan-module updates to 1.4.0.0. so, thats a new "firmware" for the wlan-module within the general firmware. and to change to the new one, there have to be a few more setting. and they cant be set only by "upgrading" with an *.all file...
As yet I have not loaded. I am in the uk and my current Wireless LAN Firmware version is showing as: 1.8.1.0 on my 2820vn so am a bit worried that I might mess this up. Currently I have loaded 3.3.1_RC8b from this site and that is working well.
Now the VPN Tunnel seems to be a little instable. Sometime it works for days, sometime only for 10 or 12 hours. The VPN-Link disappears, and it's allways the "outgoing / dialing" side. When i do a reboot of this Vigor, the VPN comes up again like it allways does.
maybe the failures came from the AES-Encryption setting for the vpn-tunnel. because only DES and 3DES are hardware supported. AES is calculated within the CPU at runtime. so, if set my vpn settings back to 3DES. maybe theres only a bug with the AES calculation...
It registers fine but when doing an echo test the call is choppy and dropped out after 30 secs or so. The other thing is that the caller-id information takes forever to show up on the screen of my phone (uniden 2315) which doesn't happen with RC7e.

I do have some problems with this new RC9a, and that is that anon...@anonymous.invalid calls do not make the phone ring...and no, anonymous calls blocking is not enabled...

Would you please give an example for us to duplicate the issue?
If your 'anonymous call' fails, please telnet to router, type 'vo de sh', save the voip log.
You can contact sup...@draytek.com.au to send any screenshots or log files.
Router Tools include Firmware Upgrade Tool and Syslog tool.
What I mentioned "telnet" is windows' command, if you are using WindowXP, you can click "start"-->"Run", then type telnet 192.168.1.1, click OK, and then you'll see telnet window.
Vigor 2820 has some wireless dhcp issues with some PCs, which have already been fixed in latest beta firmware. (Can be downloaded from Draytek Australian website)
The formal release will come soon.
Does anyone know, when the workaround of the Firewall-Filter with VPN-Connections will be in a new beta?
Filtering on VPN-Connection doesn't work right now, and thats really a problem for us...

no it doesn't work. All VPN Clients (LAN2LAN or DialIn) have full access to the Clients on the LAN. Configuring Filters like described for example here ( _over_VPN.pdf) doesn't work.
The packets get still there way to the destination.
All our VPN-Clients are Dial-In Clients that where configured as LAN2LAN Clients to have full access on the IPs the Client gets. So every single VPN Client allways gets his unique IP. This was done to setup the FilterRules. But, it doesn't work.
I would really like if people start publishing links where to find those latest releases of the firmware. This looks mor elike teasing. Don't publish this info if you don't tell us where to find it. :-(
I can't seem to get the router working with a Sierra Compass. I've upgraded the firmware to the 3G_beta firmware, changed the APN settings but I never see anything but "Starting PPP" in the online status page.
When Azureus starts up,. nothing wrong. After a while Azureus ( Vuze ) stops the data transfer, and starts again.
After that happend, wwwSurfing is not possible, only after a soft reset.

Inbound thru pstn. Anyway I'm using the one Sluekk uploaded now. Seems ok but the caller id is still a bit hit and miss. If I reboot the modem it works fine for the rest of the day but next day starts to decline to where I get about 50% working ok.
Usually this happens because the Drayteks relay is slow closing so the second time you ring the PSTN line is still active. Same happens with my 2700VG if I use a Uniden phone. A Draytek PSTN relay can take 10 to 12 seconds to close once the PSTN call is ended.
No if you dial your PSTN number it's incoming. Listen for the relay or pick up your phone press talk and switch to PSTN then hang up and pick up again you will find your are still on PSTN and to confirm that ring your mobile and you should see your PSTN number. you can do that in reverse and get CID every time. I have been advised by Draytek that this is normal behaviour.
which is OUTGOING. I know the problem to which you refer. It used to be that if you received an incoming pstn call and then hung up if you dialled out too soon the call would go out thru pstn instead of voip. That was the problem they fixed by making the relay close sooner.
I'm talking about dialling FROM my mobile to my pstn home line (which is the cheap Telstra homeline, forget whats its called, but the reason why I don't want to make any outgoing pstn calls). When I dial from my mobile to my home pstn line, say, twice in succession, one call will show CID and the next won't. Not always but it works out at about 50/50 working/non working. This has nothing to do with any slow draytek relay. If the home phone pstn relay was still open I'd get an engaged signal on my mobile. :)
I've always used Uniden phones. Some firmware is ok with them, some isn't. But if firmware is the only thing changing and sometimes it works fine and other times not I'd be pointing a finger at the firmware rather than the phone, but I acknowledge the phone could play a part in it too.
