Hello, everybody,
I'm Shiang from Nan-I Book, a textbook publisher from Taiwan.
Recently we’re planning a  textbook for elementary school, want to introduce "Stellarium" to students.

This is the page in textbook:

1.APP operation instructions
課本.jpg
2.Use the starry sky as a banner
習作頁面.jpg
We will mark ©Stellarium as the source on the textbook page or copyright page.I would like to ask for your permission to use it in the teaching materials, If there is anything else that needs attention,  please tell me.

Hope to get a reply soon. Thank you so much!
Shiang

Hello!

Thank you for asking. I think this is OK, but maybe add "https://stellarium.org" to be even more easier to find.

Kind regards,
Georg

Hi Georg,
I have a follow-up question.
If we use screenshots from Stellarium web and include the attribution "©Stellarium, https://stellarium.org" in the textbook, would that acceptable?
Below are the default textbook page layouts for your reference.

it's alright to use the screenshots - but please add the URL stellarium.org to enable your readers to reproduce the maps interactively, and in the Acknowledgement or Imprint-Section of your book please cite the paper Zotti et al. (2020) which is given on the website, as this gives credits to the main developers including the inventor.

I can actually only speak for the desktop version. Screenshots from Stellarium-web, if attributed with URL, "should" likewise be fine, but here Fabien should approve.

Thank you guys for response.

We plan to include the following credit under the images on the textbook pages:
"© Stellarium, https://stellarium.org"

Additionally, we will include a full citation on the copyright page at the end of the textbook:
This chapter makes use of the Stellarium planetarium software (Stellarium v25.2), Zotti, G., Hoffmann, S. M., Wolf, A., Chéreau, F., & Chéreau, G. (2021). The Simulated Sky: Stellarium for Cultural Astronomy Research. Journal of Skyscape Archaeology, 6(2), 221–258. DOI: 10.1558/jsa.17822

Would this approach be considered sufficiently detailed and complete?
