Angle mode

I've been using Stellarium for many years but installed it on a new laptop the other day. I now have Angle mode as well. What is it? What can it do that "norma"l mode can't do?

If this is a new laptop, try a new version of Stellarium. ANGLE is a kludge for oldish computers.
