I like using the web-based version of Stellarium, sometimes getting a screen grab to show someone how to find certain objects by star-hopping.  But  it's very hard to get a screen grab that is not "polluted" by the rendering of a passing satellite, or several.  Worse, after getting the screen-grab, say you want to manually remove satellites, it's impossible to distinguish them from stars, because they are no longer moving.

What I need to do is to turn off the rendering of satellites.  Is there a way to do that in the web-based version?  If not, is there an app that works in MacOS 10.13 (high sierra), that would allow turning off the satellites?

thanks for any tips!

Desktop Stellarium has a control to turn off satellites. Some older
releases ae available at <https://github.com/Stellarium/stellarium/releases>.

Is there an easy  way to toggle the display of satellites off/on in Windows 11 (using Stellarium 24.4)? I can prevent satellites from displaying by un-checking the load at startup option in the Satellites plug-in. Is there an on/off toggle, or could it be a possible add-on?

Thanks

Do you see the button in the lower button bar with a brightly shining satellite on top?

I'll try to attach a screenshot with that button highlighted.

I asked the opposite question a few months ago.

In guide.pdf 24.,4, 3.3 The Main Tool Bar, Figure 3.2 does not show
that Main Tool Bar. On my system, that tool bar appears only
when I move the mouse pointer over it. It would be useful if
such a figure showed that tool bar.

The table in 3.3 fails to mention the satellites control button.

It would be easier to read the rollover text if it appeared
directly over the related button (but that may be OS-dependent.)

Section 3.3 does not mention plugins.
Right in the bottom-left corner, there are tiny triangles in the slide-out button bars. Click to convert them into tiny squares, and lock the button bars. I just see this was never written down in the User Guide. 480 pages and still incomplete...

When I start Stellarium with no plugins,
the satellites button, not mentioned in
guide.pdf, appears and brightens/dims
when clicked. A naive but curious user
might wonder, What's that?

A footnote says: "Table 3.4: Stellarium’s standard
menu buttons. Those marked 1 must be enabled first,
see section 4.3.5." That should apply to the
Satellites button.

I didn't know that.

I'll try to attach a suggested embellished
alternative Figure 3.2, showing the main toolbar.
