Mouse cursor does not appear

[Newbie here]

If my mouse "happens" to touch an icon, the icon is selected, but the cursor does not appear. I tried changing the appearance of the cursor but it doesn't help.

I'm  using a Lenovo X1 laptop.

Thanks, but ANGLE doesn't appear in my installation of 26.1. MESA does seem to work. I have zero knowledge about graphics software but I image that if it works then problem solved. Moti

There are two good workarounds. The first involves a Qt5 based build (the other download) and ANGLE. The second avoids the actual reason. MESA is a workaround that slows down your X1 needlessly.

ANGLE mode or ANGLE Direct 3D 11 mode? They both work.
