Hello,

As a (very) amateur astronomer it is always with great pleasure and interest that I use Stellarium before, during and after my telescope sessions.

March 2023 brought us the opportunity to observe asteroid CERES with good conditions.

However on March 25 I had some difficulties to locate the asteroid until I realized that probably its Setallarium position on date could be wrong.

Hereinattached you will find the best possible reading of my observation made with a Meade 90 ETX with azimutal mount.

CERES observation – marked in red - being approximately 0.3° away from its Stellarium position.

I will be happy to discuss above issue.

When you selected Ceres in Stellarium, information text (coordinates, magnitudes, other info) is displayed on the left edge of the screen. The last line most likely reads "Avis: éléments orbitaux obsolètes - pensez à les mettre à jour."

Please read User Guide section 19.5, 13.7 and probably Appendix D.2.2

It seems the default bookmarks in the Solar System Editor plugin for the minor planet lists lack "bright minor planets for 2023". So, add this:
and give it a name like "Bright minor planets for 2023"

Update and see:
