Window configuration saved without request

When I have moved or resized a window such as Date/Time then
quit Stellarium *without*Save*Configuration* the change to the
window is saved regardless.
Fhis behavior is surprising. Is it intentional?
Is it described in guide.pdf?

It is intentional and has been like that since early 2016. The Guide describes a lot in its 500 pages, but just not everything. Also colors and configured plugins are stored immediately.
