Dear Stellarium Team,

I hope this message finds you well.

My team currently writing a book that explores the connections between astronomy and human life. As part of this project, wwould like to include a screenshot from Stellarium to illustrate certain astronomical concepts. We greatly appreciate the value Stellarium brings to both amateur and professional astronomers, and we want to ensure that I properly acknowledge your work.

I have reviewed your licensing terms and understand that Stellarium is distributed under the GNU General Public License (GPL). However, I would like to confirm that using a screenshot in a published book is acceptable, provided that I give appropriate credit.

Additionally, I would appreciate your guidance on the preferred way to attribute Stellarium in my publication. Below is a draft of the credit I intend to use:

Screenshot from Stellarium, an open-source planetarium software (stellarium.org).
Stellarium is licensed under the GNU General Public License (GPL).
Some images and textures displayed may be subject to third-party copyright; for full credits, see the Stellarium.org.

If you have a specific wording or format you prefer, please let me know, and I will be happy to incorporate it.

Thank you very much for your time and for creating such an outstanding resource for the astronomical community.

Regards,

Ramesh Jayal
