Job Responsibilities
· Provides business systems and applications analysis in support of
the development of new business applications and support of currently
installed applications.
· Role includes evaluation, analysis, documentation of requirements,
and translation into proper system requirement specifications.
· Formulates and defines systems scope and objectives based on both
end-user needs and a thorough understanding of business systems and
industry requirements.
· Conducts need and gap analysis and provides technical expertise in
identifying, evaluating and developing systems and procedures that are
cost effective and meet user requirements.
· Develops detailed implementation and upgrade project plans in
conjunction with other account team associates.
· Classifies problems as system, training, or process and recommends
corrections.
· Unit tests modules before implementation and reviews end-user
documentation (user guide, process flow charts, and training
materials) for accuracy.
· Selects or creates appropriate scenarios to test all results to
determine whether system changes met project specifications; uses
scenarios in end user acceptance testing.
· Operates as a liaison between technical personnel and the
appropriate end-user department.
· Evaluates and translates end user needs and problems to technical
associates.
· Teaches end users new technology and enhancements using all
appropriate communication tools as well as providing support for
existing system procedures.
· In upgrades, monitors production performance enhancements and system
integrity with end-users.
· Typically, the Specialist level defines overall application
functional requirements with end users and recommends application
methodologies for solutions to functional requirements.
· Formulates and defines systems scope and objectives through research
and fact-finding combined with a good understanding of applicable
business systems and industry requirements.
· Implements and upgrades applications and creates test plans for
small-scale projects.
· Analyzes model test discrepancies to find trends and works with
programmers to resolve.
· Establishes cost and time estimates for implementation and produces
business process flow charts.
· Evaluates alternative design solutions presented by programmers for
end users. Sets specifications for table creation and populates new
tables.
· Creates communication plans (correspondence, presentations, and
other materials) for knowledge transfer to end-user.
· Devises or modifies procedures to solve complex problems considering
computer equipment capacity and limitations, operating time, and form
of desired results.
· Guides end users through complex application functionality.
· Competent to work at the highest technical level of most phases of
systems analysis while considering the business implications of the
application of technology to the current and future business
environment.
· Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires
evaluation of identifiable factors.
Requirements
· This position requires 5+ years experience in a high tech
environment in a Technical or Business Application Analysis role, or
equivalent combination of experience and education.
· Business Systems Analysis.
· Exceptional Communications skills - written and verbal.
· Project Management/ Project Coordination.
· Solid conceptual understanding of information technology.
Desired Skills:
· Experience in a hospital environment, with clinical applications.
· Familiar with hospital-based computer applications, such as ADT,
Pharmacy, Lab, Scheduling, ED, EMR, Patient Accounting, and Finance.
· Intimate with a project management methodology that incorporates
most of the principles of the Project
