Yardstick, Protocol 26 Upgrade (Mainnet Vote May 6, 2026)

Hello validators!

Today, we announced the timeline for Stellar Yardstick, Protocol 26. This upgrade introduces new protocol-level configuration settings, checked 256-bit integer arithmetic, v2 TTL host functions, additional BN254 cryptographic host functions, SAC improvements, and strkey conversion host functions. Stay tuned — we'll be sharing an announcement soon with a full breakdown of the changes.

Key dates:
  • As of today, many stable releases, including Stellar Core and RPC are available
  • By April 8, 2026: Stable releases for all Stellar-related software will be available
  • April 16, 2026 at 1700 UTC: Testnet upgrade
  • May 6, 2026 at 1700 UTC: Mainnet upgrade vote

Reminder: the Yardstick, Protocol 26 upgrade vote is scheduled for next week, May 6 at 1700 UTC.

Take a look and let me know if you have any questions.  If the changes look good, you can arm your validators to vote for the upgrade with the following command:
upgrades?mode=set&upgradetime=2026-05-06T17:00:00Z&protocolversion=26

No matter what, please make sure to install up-to-date versions of all Stellar software before next week to avoid disruption!

Final reminder: the network upgrade vote for Yardstick, Protocol 26 is tomorrow at 1700 UTC.  Make sure you have upgraded your Stellar infrastructure, and armed your validators for the vote.
