Hey everyone!
Yesterday, December 18, 2023, the Stellar test network (testnet) was reset and upgraded to the stable version of Protocol 20.
What an exciting milestone for Soroban!
Next, all validators should install new Protocol 20 releases, prepare for the Mainnet upgrade vote, and stay informed about updating Soroban network settings.
Install Stable Release: you should update and install the latest release of Stellar Core (currently v20.0.1) as soon as possible, and definitely before January 30th. You should also update any other Stellar-related software you use (Horizon, RPC, SDKs).
Mainnet Upgrade Vote: The vote is set for January 30, 2024 at 1500 UTC, and here is the command to arm your node for the upgrade:
upgrades?mode=set&upgradetime=2024-01-30T15:00:00Z&protocolversion=20
Update Network Settings: Protocol 20 introduces validator-controlled settings for resources available to Soroban transactions. The settings will be updated in a series of phases, commencing after the Mainnet upgrade (more info here). Soon, we’ll share more info required to update the settings such as the command and the XDR.
If you have any questions or feedback, please let us know. To stay up to date, view more timeline details, and find links to relevant releases, see the Protocol 20 Upgrade Guide.
