Today, we announced a plan to limit the Stellar Development Foundation's Mainnet instances of Horizon to only provide one year of historical data, which will be truncated on a rolling basis.  The planned truncation date is August 1st, 2024.  This change will only impact you if you rely on horizon.stellar.org to retrieve network history >1 year old.

Check out the blog post for more info about the plan, for an explanation of the reasoning behind it, and for suggestions about alternatives for retrieving older network history: https://stellar.org/blog/foundation-news/sdf-s-horizon-limiting-data-to-1-year

Ultimately, this decision is intended to ensure the sustainability of SDF’s Horizon, and to contribute to the sustained health and decentralization of the Stellar network and its ecosystem.

Hey, everyone!

Reminder: SDF's Horizon instance will stop providing full historical data this Thursday, August 1st 2024! If you're still using SDF's Horizon (horizon.stellar.org) to retrieve network data older than >1 year, then make sure you've switched over to an alternative before Thursday.

Did you forget this was happening and are now in full panic mode? No problem! Set yourself up with an infrastructure provider: https://developers.stellar.org/docs/data/horizon/horizon-providers#ecosystem-horizon-providers
