Inthis section, we look at how to enable online play on Cemu. This involves dumping a set of online files from your Wii U to make Nintendo think that the connection from Cemu is actually coming from your console. This means you will be able to play online with both other Cemu users and real Wii U users.

Reformatting your console will result in your NNID being unlinked from that console. You will no longer be able to use online features on Cemu until you re-link your account to that console and re-obtain the files necessary for online play.

Selling your console (which is not permitted by Cemu because you technically do not own that data anymore) will likely also result in the new owner reformatting the console or otherwise removing your account from the same. This will result in permanent loss of access.

You can get used to this over time, if you really want to, but it really screws up the camera, and never feels as comfortable as using the two traditional joysticks does. Past this, keeping motion controls on for the high-intensity online multiplayer modes is nothing short of a death sentence because it highly restricts your ability to make quick turns, a necessity when enemy squids are blasting you with paint from all sides.

Splatoon is a fine game, and you can use the Gamepad somewhat helpfully to warp to teammates in multiplayer or check out the ink spread of a map. But the motion controls? They have the potential to turn a good game into an irritating one, and so I thought this Public Service Announcement would help new players enjoy the game more than they would have otherwise.

The Cemu Wii U emulator has allowed since a few months to enjoy Zelda Breath of the Wild on PC, with many players getting an acceptable level of performance. A new version of the emulator is now out to the public, and it seems like things have been improved for the latest entry in the Zelda series.

Following the release of the 1.11.0 version, many have been reporting improvements for Zelda Breath of the Wild. The quality of the improvements, however, depends on the user's machine, so some may not experience anything truly noticeable over the previous versions of the emulator.

Cemu 1.11.0 also introduces another critical improvement, native online play. Thanks to this feature, it's not possible to enjoy the online modes of Mario Kart 8, Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and Splatoon together with Wii U users. Other enhancements are also in, and you can learn more about them by checking out the video below.

general: Added support for native online play for games that use NEX (requires otp, seeprom, account data and certificates dumped from a Wii U)

general: Updated game profiles

general: Added "streamoutBufferCacheSize" game profile option

general: Added "extendedTextureReadback" option (fixes Pikmin 3 and possibly other games, credits and thanks @ epigramx for the finding)

general: Added "threadQuantum" game profile option to control amount of virtual PPC cycles executed per thread time slice

general: Updates and dlcs can be now installed (but not downloaded) more conveniently via Cemu's UI. File -> Install game update or DLC -> select the meta.xml in the meta folder of the update

general: Added logging option for socket API

To be able to perform these hacks you will need to have a computer, cemu emulator with Splatoon and Splatoon update (games and updates have to be in loadiine format since it will be much easier to modify the files), and Switch Toolbox (a program for computer which allows you to modify game files from various Nintendo consoles including, of course, Wii U and Nintendo Switch). There will be hacks that will necessarily have to be applied to the base game and there will be other hacks that will necessarily have to be applied to the update.

First I will teach you how to modify the parameters of the main weapons. This hack has to be applied, yes or yes, in the update folder and not in the base game folder. All these parameters are located in a file called static.pack, and this file is located inside the pack folder. The pack folder and all other game content folders are inside the content folder. At first glance, if you open a .pack file with a normal text editor you will not understand anything since all the characters are unreadable for a human. If you open a .pack file using the Switch Toolbox, you will be able to view its contents in greater detail. In this case, if you open the static.pack file with the Switch Toolbox you will see that inside that file there are a few folders, and one of those folders is called parameter. The parameter folder contains many files in .params format, and those files can be edited with a normal text editor, since they are simply .txt files with a different format. Here I leave a guide so that you know which file corresponds to each weapon:

In addition, blasters have a second ending file associated with the ending "explosion" that indicates the parameters of the projectile's explosion, from the explosion damage to the area covered by the explosion.

The chargers, instead of having mIniyVel, have mMinDistance, mMaxDistance and mFullChargeDistance. mMinDistance indicates the range of the weapon when the charge level is minimum (the range of the file is measured in DU, and a zone of the shooting range is approximately 50 DU). mMaxDistance indicates the maximum range of the incomplete load. mFullChargeDistance indicates the range of the maximum charge.

To implement such a hack, simply extract the .param file you want to modify from the static.pack file, modify that .params file, replace the modified .params file inside the static.pack file (in the parameter folder), save the modified static.pack file in the same location where it was, and you will be able to play with a modified weapon.
