The Licensing group manages site licensed and individually-owned software for current faculty, staff, and enrolled students. This licensed software has been procured to assist Clemson University users with their daily computing tasks. We may keep titles on the list for 2 years or more after the license has expired because in many cases activating the license again only requires a maintenance fee versus the full product price. We want our users to know that this is an option if they see it on the list before purchasing.

Please click on individual titles for more information. Many software products are available for all faculty, staff, and students to use. Some, however, are designated for specific college or group use. In the cases where a license is designated as "network" (as opposed to "standalone"), that designation refers to whether or not the license is tied to an on-campus license server. The standalone version of the license will be the better install option for laptops that may be used from on- or off-campus; the network license will be appropriate for desktop or departmental machines.

Most titles listed below require a license to be purchased or require the user to be a member of the group that owns the software. If you need a particular piece of software and don't see it on the software list below or want more information about a title, you can inquire by sending an email to lice...@clemson.edu. This will generate a ticket to track your issue. You'll receive an update to your ticket instructing you how to download the software in question or in some cases, you may be directed to your area consultant for installation. If you need to purchase a license, please include the desired title, quantity, and end user's username.

The Licensing group maintains a network Software Repository of the most widely used applications. Click on a title below for instructions on accessing the Repository. Depending upon your group membership, some applications may be listed as Restricted Use on the Repository. These are generally titles purchased by a specific College, department, or research group and access to the install media for these titles will be limited to IT support personnel who can facilitate the install process for you.

The IT Contracts and Licensing group works closely with all groups involved in the licensing process to ensure your needs are met. Please be sure to read the instructions for installation in the Documentation folder of each software folder in the Software Repository. This documentation will in most cases guide you through the successful installation of your software.

If you have any additional questions about the availability, cost, or install procedures for this software, you can either visit the CCIT Support Center on the 2nd floor of Cooper Library or send an email to ith...@clemson.edu.

Clemson University programs are designed to prepare students to apply for licensure or certification in South Carolina. These include face-to-face, online, and hybrid programs. Completion of a Clemson University program may or may not lead to licensure or certification in other states.

Clemson University makes every effort to ensure information about educational requirements for licensure or certification is current; however, state requirements may change. Separate from educational requirements, state licensure boards may require applicants to complete professional examinations, background checks, years of professional experience, residence requirements, training, etc. As such, Clemson University does not guarantee completion of an academic program will automatically lead to a licensure or certification.

If you are planning to pursue professional licensure or certification in a state other than South Carolina, it is strongly recommended that you contact the appropriate licensing entity in that state to seek information and guidance regarding licensure or certification requirements PRIOR to beginning an academic program. It is also imperative that you notify your program and check licensure or certification requirements if you relocate to a new state while enrolled in a program.

In addition, if your program leads to a professional license or certification, authorization may be required from the state professional licensing board prior to beginning a clinical or field experience in that state. Check here or with your program's internship or clinical coordinator prior to beginning an internship or field experience in another state.

For your convenience, select the College that houses the academic program below, then select the state in which you intend to be licensed, you will now see licensing requirements for each program in the state where you will seek employment. Links to state professional associations or licensing authorities are provided for each program.

If you have trouble finding the requirements for a specific state, please contact the program's advisor or email stat...@clemson.edu for assistance.

The Department of Pesticide Regulation (DPR), a state regulatory agency and part of Clemson University Public Service and Agriculture, made the postponement in response to the COVID-19 outbreak and issued new guidelines for testing, certification and licensure of commercial, non-commercial or private applicators of regulated pesticides.

All S.C. pesticide applicators who were licensed as of Dec. 31, 2019 but have not already renewed as of April 1, 2020, will have their licenses extended through Dec. 31, 2020 if they meet specific requirements.

Nothing in this temporary guidance shall exempt any applicator from complying with all other existing requirements. Specifically, any applicators using or supervising the use of Restricted Use Pesticides during 2020 must be certified and licensed. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has not modified this requirement.

  • Similarly, any applicator using or supervising the use of pesticides while performing pest control activities as outlined in Section 27-1085 (L) of the Rules and Regulations for the Enforcement of the South Carolina Pesticide Control Act during 2020 must be certified and licensed. These activities include Aquatic, Turf and Ornamental, Structural and Public Health. The Clemson University Department of Pesticide Regulation has not modified this requirement.
The changes are being implemented immediately and will remain in effect until further notice. Any changes or updates to these measures will be posted online at the DPR website.

The department certifies and licenses individuals, professionals and businesses through state and federal laws and its investigators across the state conduct routine and for-cause inspections on pesticide use and alleged misuse.

DPR is part of the Division of Regulatory Services which is housed within Clemson University Public Service and Agriculture. Including DPR and similar offices for plant industry, fertilizer and seed, Regulatory Services partners with other state and federal agencies like the S.C. Department of Agriculture and Clemson Cooperative Extension to provide regulation through education.

Publishing at Clemson Libraries consists of a suite of services designed to help Clemson researchers increase the impact of their works through open online dissemination. We assist Clemson researchers in taking advantage of the new types of scholarship and modes of dissemination made possible through advances in technology and eliminating copyright barriers to digital information.

Clemson Libraries continue to seek new opportunities for participation in transformative agreements (also referred to as read and publish agreements). These licenses provide authors affiliated with Clemson University the option to publish open access (OA) content in gold or hybrid OA journals at no cost. In many models, publishing an OA article comes with a substantial fee, referred to as an Article Processing Charge (APC).

We support authors who wish to explore open access publication models. The Libraries has committed to seeding a fund to underwrite the journal processing fees (up to $1,500) of Clemson University authors who choose to publish their research articles in peer-reviewed, reputable open-access journals, monographs, or conference proceedings.

We work with instructors and students to help find open resources for use in the classroom. There is a world of high-quality educational materials available to students at zero cost, and we can help you find and incorporate them into your lessons.

Our institutional repository supports Clemson researchers in publishing article manuscripts, theses and dissertations, posters, conference proceedings, and other types of scholarship that may not be broadly disseminated. We also support the preservation and distribution of conferences held on campus and serve as a publishing platform.

Established in 2000, Clemson University Press has expanded in recent years, adding approximately twenty-five books and journal issues per annum to its strong backlist of more than a hundred titles. Clemson University Press staff serve as local publishing experts, providing guidance on intellectual property, scholarly communications, and the publication process.

Predatory publishing affects many facets of academia, from graduate students publishing their first articles to tenure applications to evaluating research impact. We offer training and consultations on how to recognize predatory publishers (and conferences) and evaluate potential publication venues (both traditional and open access). We offer workshops throughout the year and are also available for individual consultations, quick questions, or to speak to small groups on specific topics.

We offer brief courses on copyright and fair-use decision making. We also check copyright permissions to assist researchers in making their previously published research more openly available, provide support for negotiating the terms of publication agreements in support of open dissemination, and help researchers broaden the impact of their work.
