Hi Garrett,

It is such a great thing to do to strengthen the theory part of STeLA. I am wondering, though, two points?

1 Are we all required to read the English version?

2 Maybe if 1 holds, I suggest the pair-up to be CN/US JP/EU or CN/EU JP/US.

The motivation here is that we have a wonderful resource we use for leadership, the book The Fifth Discipline, by Peter Senge, which I have found useful within and outside the forum itself.  I think it'd be great for us to read and discuss this book, as it should also strengthen our collective understanding of the leadership material.

We'll have about 2 weeks to read a chapter or section from the book.  Then we'll meet and discuss the book for an hour or so.

Meetings will pair up two branches and rotate each time, so for instance, first week will be CN/JP and US/EU, etc.    This way we can be discussing within branches, and we can keep group sizes relatively small so everyone can speak.

This is open to anyone on staff.  If you are developing a content/leadership session or thinking you will be a facilitator, I highly recommend you participate.  And if you are neither of these, I still recommend you participate as it is what this forum is built on and do you ever get stuck in that situation where someone asks you "What's STeLA" and your like "Hmmm..."?

I'd like for people to actually purchase the book or ebook.  It isn't expensive and will be valuable for you for years.   If you absolutely cannot pay for a book, please let me know and we'll work something out.

Send me an email if you are interested!  And if you are interested in leading a discussion, please put your name in the google doc.  This basically just means you'll help set up the meeting and ask some questions based on the reading to get discussion going.
