You can leave the default aoo.sonobus.net as the server, or enter another server hostname if you are running your own group connection server. Note that NO AUDIO is sent through the server, it is only used to help the users connect to each other, all audio is sent directly between users (peer-to-peer).
Remember that all audio is only sent peer-to-peer, the connection server only facilitates the group member management. Currently, the default aoo.sonobus.net server is likely going to be the only working choice, but you can also run your own (see ).
@sonosaurus (or anyone else) : if i have a mac and ipad communicating via sonobus what is the correct way to set it up to send audio from the mac to iPad (aum) and send the processed audio back to the Mac.
In my experience, truly glitch-free has not been possible over WiFi even with big buffers on my home network. It is possible that part of the problem on my network is the actual WiFi router as someone else reported better (but not entirely glitch free results with the same sonobus settings and similar iPad and Mac).
Btw, if one has a Mac handy, one doesn't even need an ethernet adapter to use sonobus to connect to the Mac as it will do ethernet over the wired connection if the machines are connected with a lightning cable (for lightning equipped iDevices). Details here =sonobus
Hi, when I try to load an audio file or record the program crashes with a segfault. Talking with some friends who had sonobus also installed, one has the same issue and for the other one all works as expected.
Hi, newbie in manjaro. I am using pipewire for a while now with sonobus. Everything was working fine till i made an update on 2023-08-30. The problem is in sonobus, i cannot select the input anymore. Seems that there was an update in pipewire that is causing the problem. If anyone can help, tell me what commands you need to understand my system.
The AUR package sonobus was updated last time on 2023-01-18, there is probably a dependency not compatible anymore, wait until the maintainer update the AUR package or use the Snap Package or move on to alternatives.
meanwhile, i compiles directly latest from sonobus recomended git. Did not solve my problem. Will wait for sonobus to be updated in the AUR. hopefully this will resolve my problem. Luckilly i did a timeshift before doing the update. Will just do a rollback from my version before the 2023-08-30 update.
