Sorry its late.

Draft agenda below. Please email if you have discussion points, and/or I will try to remember to ask if there are any at the beginning of the meeting.

Speak tomorrow,
Alice

1. Check in [10 min]

2. Meeting admin [5 min]

Allocate:

Minute-taker

Timekeeper

Any additional items/AOB to add to the agenda?

3. APs from previous meeting [15 min]

4. Roles [10 min]

Happy? Understand them? Difficulties?

This time: specifically; Jannat (Events - what does this cover?), Shaz and Elli; Check in on everyone else to make sure still okay.

5. Updates [10 min]

NB: concentrate on what has happened; and plans for the forthcoming month, including anything you need from other members of the SG. Make sure it is relevant to the SG, and NOT your working group internal stuff. You are reporting your role/representative of a group; not your individual actions. Think about whether or not what you are thinking of saying has implications for the wider group or not.

You have 5 bullet points (you don’t have to use them all!). First check if anyone needs extra time to explain something long they need to explain.

Treasurer (Shaz)

Secretary (?)

Membership (Greg)

Comms (?)

Fundraising (?)

Campaigns (John (reporting on MfM and DEG))

Events/Basecamp? (Jannat)

Wales (Alice)

Ireland (Elli?)

Europe (Richard)

6. Discussion points/AOB [5-10mins per item]

Hi,

Sorry I won't be there tomorrow. Six things I want to mention:
  1. Membership - here is our membership form: http://eepurl.com/RxCE1 - I tried to get it embedded on our website, but it didn't work. Can I ask what the plan is next? Was it for Cecily to get it out via comms to get people to become official members?
  2. I have been engaging with new people who have signed up to our newsletter, as we get an email when this happens, and it has been interesting, for example, someone from Compass Youth who is huge support of Young FoE, so he could potentially be a future steering group member
  3. Update on Engaging Young People's Project
    1. I am sure Cecily can give an update on this, but I will write anyway:
    2. Lucy did originally say she would be take on more of a coordinating role after her exams this month. I will keep chatting to her and also speak to her at Basecamp more about this coordinating role
    3. We have been organising our session at Basecamp and this is looking to be a discussion around our survey results, ideas people have around engaging young people and also the barriers to engaging young people. This won't just be done in our session slot, but we will also make an effort to speak to people & local groups at other points throughout the Basecamp weekend
    4. Cecily and James are working on a new Young FoE leaflet about Young FoE - this will be a generic leaflet about who we are, and can be printed out and given to local groups to distribute on their stalls. This will be finished in time for Basecamp and distributed to local groups there
  4. Re missing roles and members, I really think we need a discussion about elections for next steering group. I believe Tim is to sort this out? We really need to recruit for these missing positions, but they could be part of the next steering group to make it easier, and so recruit them for that? We have one person possibly interested in the comms press officer role, I am hoping he goes for it, but we shall see. Fundraising - Tim has just got us £80 from Meat Free May, plus we will be running the bar at Basecamp, which I think a lot of people will use because the World Cup is being shown and people will drink whilst watching that!
  5. Tim has suggested that we purely focus on one campaign - and if this is to be Dirty Energy, then maybe the steering group has more involvement with that campaign? Dirty Energy Group only has a few members and is lacking energy and ideas - I suggest we talk about Global Frackdown - I know that Tisha from Frack Off London wants to do something with New York? Would be good to chat further about potential collaboration?
  6. See attached. We've been asked to help organise this - please discuss at meeting and let me know the response. I think it would be a good opportunity to recruit members, but then does it distract from our campaigns? Maybe yes? If so, would it be better on passed to UKYCC who may have more use for it? Or could it just be our platform for the Networking event that we have spoken about? I think it could be.
AGENDA ITEM NEEDED: NEXT FACE TO FACE? 12TH & 13TH JULY? WALES? SHALL WE BOOK NOW? ACTION AGAINST TTIP STUNT ON THE 12TH?

Cheers,

Greg

Hi All,

I too won't be able to attend this meeting.

Two things:

1. I sent an email around about Basecamp a few days ago. Please have a read and act as appropriate. Would be great if the person who wishes to oversee the management of the bar could let me know ASAP (thanks a billion in advance).

2. Meat Free May is going well, with over 700 sign-ups and nearly £750 raised. My boss and Tim have agreed to try and find some time at Basecamp to go over the good, the bad, and any future steps.

Thanks.

Jannat

I won't be able to make the call either. I've started a new job this week and I've have to work late today.

All the best!

Cheers,
Richard
