I just installed the steercms (trunk svn), after loading data and
configuring apache only the administration part seems to work.

If i go to the website http://gnelisse.steercms.dev/ i get a 404 error
on main page.
When viewing http://gnelisse.steercms.dev/dev.php/ i get the following
error in the sidebar :

steerCMSContentFrontendActions failed to match domain
("gnelisse.steercms.dev") to a root level site or blog

I am on linux (ubuntu 8.04) using apache 2.x with symfony version
1.0.15

Other remark : /install/install.php gives alot of errors during
install (permission, mkdir stuff), so i managed using the symfony load-
data.

Help is appreciated.

Hi,

The issue with the 404 is related to the domain settings.

Try logging into the administration area and setting the permalink for the site root to:

Publish that update and that should fix the 404.

The root item / site... must have the appropriate domain set to it. It's this that also allows multiple sites to be run out of one instance.

Other remark : /install/install.php gives alot of errors during
install (permission, mkdir stuff), so i managed using the symfony load-
data.

The installer is getting a big update in the next few days. We have a new status report feature which is already in trunk. It will provide a bit of a run-down on potential issues - things like permissions, php setting and versions etc...
