Hey, was just looking over the 3 -PG model again for some class work, and wondered if the simile version (we saw yesterday) is available online somewhere I can access it?

P.s like the new heading!

Hi Louise,

3PG actually one of the models that we have done the most work on, in terms of putting it on the web.

Go to http://www.plasmo.ed.ac.uk/plasmo/models/model.shtml?accession=PLM_12

Click on the Display/Run tab.

Click on Display the Content of the Model... for a listing of the equations - not particularly pretty.  Many of the Math fields are blank (they're read in from a data file), but all the equations should be there.

Click on View this Model in SimileWeb...  for a much nicer interface for viewing and running the model (written by my son Mark!).   You can view the equations there in much more compact form.   You can also actually run the model: click on the run arrow to the right of the Run length field in the left-hand panel, then click on the Table, Graph or Individual graphs tabs to see the results.  You can then change input values (under the Inputs tab, and run the model again.   Let me know if you have any problems with SimileWeb.

Return to the page above, and download the model from a download link.    This should load into Simile using the File > Import menu option.    (The version I tried loaded but was not runnable yesterday.   You may have the same problem - I'm not sure what the current state-of-play is, and we have been a bit remiss in not ensuring that things keep on working as we change Simile.)    A lot of this is rather flaky, so do not be surprised if things go wrong along the way.

Let me know how you get on - preferably as a list of points in one email, rather than in separate emails.

Incidentally, this (the Plasmo portal and SimileWeb combo) should give you a feel for what we are aiming for in STEEMI, though we will have a rather sweeter interface than the portal; and you will be able to build/edit the model in your browser, not just run it like in SimileWeb just now.

Cheers,
Robert
Thanks for the thumbs up on the heading!   I found it's easy to add a logo, so the heading is actually just a big image.   But it could do with a graphics logo as well...
