I just realized that I had neglected to re-post this event from
Facebook:

Our June event will be a guided walking tour of Old Sacramento. The
actual tour will take place between 11:00am and 1:00pm (on Sunday,
6/27). After that, we will break for lunch. We will take time for a
general invasion of Old Sac -- visiting all of the interesting shops.
We may, also, include a bicycle ride.

More details will soon follow.

ADDENDUM - 28 May:

We have decided that there will be an old west/gold rush theme for
this event. Please make an effort to incorporate this theme into your
garb. There may be a costume contest...

ADDENDUM - 8 June:

Here is a revised schedule of this event:

11:00am to 11:30am - People will arrive and meet at the intersection
of Front and I Street (near the picnic benches located there).

11:30am to 1:00pm - Walking Tour

1:00pm to 2:00pm - The group will visit several shops of interest and
gather for a group photograph.

2:00pm - We will gather for refreshments at a local restaurant (to be
announced).

*Please note that there will, indeed, be a costume contest (based
around an old west/gold rush theme). Please make every attempt to
arrive dressed for the occasion.

On the topic of music:
I would like to begin sharing playlists that inspire me and fit the
theme of each of our events. Unfortunately, I don't know of any ways
to share the music with you (since I'm technologically impaired), but
feel free to look it up and download it. For the weird west themed
Old Sac Walking Tour, I've been listening to the following songs:
1. This Dark and Twisty Road - Abney Park
2. My Love Is Killing Me - The Red Elvises
3. The Ghost of Emma Jean - Beat Circus
4. Cold Cold Water - Mirah
5. I Scare Myself - Rosin Coven
6. Todo Es Mal! - The Slow Poisoners

*Feel free to add other music, that fits this theme, to the list
here...

I've taken the liberty of adding a couple of gold prospecting songs
from Paint Your Wagon. I would also suggest The Copper War by The Cog
is Dead, which is not on the playlist because I couldn't find the full-
length track anywhere on the internet except Myspace, which is
protected against this sort of thing.

ADDENDUM - 20 June:

Regarding food... We will be dining at Round Table Pizza at 127 K
Street. I know that this isn't very Steampunk...but it's the only
place that is reasonable and will accommodate a group our size with no
problems. The restaurant is also in a very nice, old red brick
building. It should be a fun and relaxed setting.

Also, the schedule for this event is pretty flexible; however, the
tour will definitely start at 11:30. Please be on time, or we may
leave without you.
