Wow , no offence I really hate this kind of question . How do I
describe myself and my intrests, well I am eclectic I would have to
say. Quiet and probally would be considered shy till I get to know
people. I have been drawn to the "steampunk" Ideals with its
creativity and music. At this point I would like to see where it
leads.

The question is there for the spam robots. Be sure to check our
Facebook group.

Robin writes: "I've been in to steampunk all my life without really
knowing it. My dress has been inspired by the Artist , Micheal Parks,
and movies and books like Dune, Stevie Nicks, I've always had a thing
for the past and the the future never either or but a mixture of both,
a friend told me about steampunk a few months ago and I just love it.
I have many interest, reading, writing, making videos, blogging"

Be sure to check our "events" and "discussions" tabs on our Facebook
Group (Sacramento Steampunk Society). That is where the action is.

Gaia writes: "Hi! I hail from northern California, Grass Valley to be
specific. I'm just getting in to steampunk, but I'm totally in love
with the philosophy and the aesthetic. In September I'm moving to
Oregon, but until then, I'd really like to get to know some steampunks
in my area! =)"

Captain Widdershins introduces himself: "Hello, I'm Captain Fredrick
Thomas Widdershins, a gender bending mad scientist living in Citrus
Heights. I am a loyal member of Dr. Steel's Toy Soldier's (though I'm
not sure if that matters to you) and a newcommer to the Wonderful
World of Steampunk. I am sloly comming in to this "whole new world",
and I hope to be able to enjoy it to the fullest with all of you."

Lots of Dr. Steel fans among the steampunks.

Greetings Captain, welcome. Alice Gulch here!

Clearly I have been missing out on something fun. Someone enlighten me. What is Doctor Steel?

Creative introduction award goes to Jonathan: "As Jonathan scrolled
down the Steampunk ledger, he began to think to himself, "Is this a
government census? Whose keeping this file? If I must." 'Jon Van Bee
is the name, to whoevers asking' he quickly scrawled, obviously
irratated. "Great gravy, is this the extent of joining the Nautilus
crew? Or is this a dirigible headed for Hades?" ***Steampunk is an
awesome outlet, one worth exploring. It seems in a society of people
choosing not to explore, invent, and change our impending reality,
maybe someone with a great intelligence may be found here, even in
goggles and a pith helmet. Heh, joke. Im not a Facebooker, but I tried
to contact you all at Second Saturday (6/11/11) (Bolo-tied, Hand-
Carved Ray-Guy aka: "The Mineralist" that night) and fealt semi-
snubbed. I left my email and im hoping that if I post here again,
maybe I'll hear from you soon. Any events, shows, fun, possible
contacts with help on outfits(!!!), please feel free to contact me via
email frist. ANYONE from the Society whose outgoing and exepting
PLEASE CONTACT! (Fred! Mike Wise!) (Forgot others names, sorry!)
Ultimate thanks!!! (JVB = friendar...@gmail.com)"

Sorry you didn't feel welcomed at Second Saturday - that was a highly
dilute and somewhat busy event for us - not our usual. I'm glad you
contacted Mike and Fred. Our event announcements are sent to those
who join the group on Facebook. We've tried maintaining multiple
sites and it is just too much work and too easy for errors. For now -
Facebook is our main communication spot (although with the recent
changes there we may go elsewhere soon).

Sid the sailer shares: "Interested in anything Maritime and or
Steampunk. Considering converting my small sailboat into either a side
paddle wheeler or a small launch. Vessel is currently in the East Bay/
San Francisco Area."

What a great idea! I'm very much into wooden boat building (in an
I've never done any, but read a lot about it). There is a group of
steam launch owners you should know about - contact me off-line with
your email,
