Optibike and Bomber Pic

The Bomber feels smaller than the optibike when riding it.

Very nice selection there Paul. Here's the perfect place to kick off the Opti Vs Bomber comparison.

The Bomber is my first choice for fast rides obviously but also for the really rough roads that I ride. Massive potholes, ravines, craggy, jugged corrugation, cattle grids, you name it, the Bomber glides over everything with barely a bump. All that travel & weight provides a magic carpet feel.

The Opti is the way to go for a more leisurely speed but with far more effort i.e. far more like a bicycle, with all the extra health & fitness benefits that provides.

Something that is pretty much foremost in anyone's mind when they first ride the Bomber, is the silence, the ability to listen to the wind in it's purest form without the whine of an ICE or less offensive electric motor. Of course, the Opti is far from silent, in 1st gear upwards, it's a metallic screech, while in gears approaching 14th, the bee swarm is always following you. Some may see it as a negative, I do too at times but I also see the positives of the MBB noise, safety - people really do hear you coming, and audible feedback - a key gear change prompt that augments your sense of cadence & motor rpm, so essential for ideal shifting on a mid-drive like the Opti.

Paul,

The 24" wheel probably gives the smaller feel. Lower COG is good.

Remf,

Do you have any fresh ride data from your iBike meter for the stealth?

More thrust too.

No Dan, I haven't used the iBike on the Bomber yet, I may try it out seeing that I don't have a CA data logger. I really like the data you can get from the iBike, in fact for Pikes Peak, essential equipment includes:

An iBike Pro or Dash + Power
A Contour+ or Contour GPS Video Camera

Just so we can analyze the data :)
