Hello fellow runners.  I am sure many of you are feeling the same roller coaster of emotions that comes after today's news. Out of all of the sadness and grief comes this longing for the peace and comfort for our "sole" brothers and sisters.  This is an invite to share your thoughts and prayers for all those affected.

Last night I wanted to post that last year at that time I was preparing for bed and going to get up to run the Boston Marathon and now a year later I was sitting in front of my computer, filing taxes.  I woke up with such a sense of longing to be back in Boston.  This afternoon I thanked God for unanswered prayers.  Last year, my husband was at the location where the 2nd bomb went off and the 4 hour mark would have been close to my projected finish time.  It does make you think... I am very thankful for being able to run here today, not in Boston, but in Ste. Genevieve with such wonderful friends by my side.

My thoughts and prayers go out to all those who are suffering today!

Thanks for sharing Dana.  Were any of the Ste. Gene. runners there and are they ok?  I couldn't believe it like everyone else.  I was checking facebook and saw a earlier post from someone about how they did, then I thought of a friend that was running there and decided to check her page.  That is when I found out about the explosion.  Thank goodness she and her husband are ok.  Saddened and praying for everyone and thankful for the first responders and all the people that helped.

There were no runners from Ste. Genevieve.  Cape had 6 guys that I know of, and they all finished safe.  I also had a friend who ran this year and she and her family are also ok.  It is still so hard to believe that there is such evil out there.  I do believe that love is stronger and will always win in the end.

Greetings Everyone
I am so relieved that Dana and Karl were not running the marathon this year, very selfish but still grateful.
I have some contacts through work that knew several people in Boston. Thankfully everyone is unharmed, at least physically.
What is so amazing is how everyone comes together to support anyone who needs it.
The emotions will eventually lessen but our support will never decrease.

Thanks for sharing, I heard on the radio over 200 runners were from MO and they were all ok.  I know a lady that was running and her husband was close to the blast, but they were both ok and are home safe now.  I know if you would have been there Nurse Lori, you would have jumped right in with trying to save lives.  It was so amazing to see the people responding to help others.  There were people who finished the grueling race and then jumped in to help.  It goes to show that runners are amazing people and even though it is a individual sport, when it all comes down to it they become a team.  I truely value the friendships I have made through running and I have learned a lot from these people.
