Greetings from STC New England!

This email contains information on four important topics for your STC New England chapter!

1. Elections
2. End of Year Event
3. Scribbling Tipplers Social  Hour
4. This email list is being phased out

1. Elections

The ballot is now available for the STC New England 2013-2014 election. You can vote on the ballot page under the members' area at http://stcnewengland.org/.

The chapter has made great gains in the past year, including the new website. All chapter members in good standing have accounts on the new website, so please go there and vote!

To log in, use your email address as your username and use the password help feature to set a new password. This is not the same as the STC.org website; you do not have the same credentials. We do use the email address from your STC membership; if you subscribe to STCinfo with a different email address, email stcnew...@gmail.com for help.

If you are no longer a member of STC, do consider rejoining. Dues are less expensive if you join mid-year, and you will get a front-row seat to the exciting changes coming your way as a technical communicator in New England. The competitions are back! The jobs bank is back! The Interchange conference is back! And there is a new focus on making the New England Chapter an everyday resource for technical communicators at any stage of their careers.

You can help guide these exciting developments by voting at http://stcnewengland.org/

2. End of Year Event - June 26

It's the end of the year for STC New England and we're celebrating in style.

Join us at Waxy O'Connor's Irish Pub and Restaurant on Wednesday, June 26 for food and fun and the BossTunes!

We've reserved a private function room where we will enjoy a buffet-style sit-down dinner, enjoy the sounds of the BossTunes, hand out a few awards, and relax a little as the year comes to a close. A cash bar will be available.

We hope to see you there. You can register at www.stcnewengland.org.

3. Scribbling Tipplers Social Hour

The second Tuesday of each month we meet at Waxy O'Connor's in Lexington (formerly the Hartwell House) and have food, drinks, and conversation after work.  Anyone is welcome to come.  Check in with the hostess when you arrive and as for the STC group, the writers group, or Scribbling Tipplers, the hostess will help you find us.

4. STC New England Email List

This email list (stcinfo) is being phased out and replaced by a new contact list through www.stcnewengland.org.  Our new website allows us to manage a membership list through the web site, and we area slowly moving in that direction.  For the time being, we'll send announcements to both this email list and the web site.

If you are a registered STC member and have selected New England as your chapter, you should have already received an email with information on how to log in to your account at www.stcnewengland.org.  If you did not, please email stcnew...@gmail.com and we will create an account for you.

If you are NOT an STC member, you can still be on the email list and have access to almost all areas of the website.  You can also email stcnew...@gmail.com, and we will create an account for you.
