Program Summary

Lisa Gualteri, PhD, will be speaking on how healthcare communication is changing with new technology and how technical writers can help supply accurate and easy-to-understand information.

With 59% of US adults looking online for health information, it is necessary to create information that is understandable and helpful for healthcare consumers. The need for accurate, easy-to-understand information is growing in this field and we as technical writers are in a unique position to help fill this need.

Lisa will discuss health literacy, health websites, social media, and the abundant opportunities to reach healthcare consumers proactively and re-actively and how we, as technical communicators, can provide accurate content that is easily consumable by the public.
