About the Session:
Many industries require documentation and many businesses perform it only because they think it is the “right” thing to do. On the flip side, many organizations overlook and consider documentation as a complete waste of time and money.
However, documentation can play a major role in improving the efficiency and quality of a system, thereby, increasing customer’s overall satisfaction.
The session provides insights about how to turn process documentation into a key aspect for your company.
About the Speaker
Ramachandra Murthy is working as Senior Technical Writer at Broadridge Financial Solutions. He mentors junior writers. Last year, he presented a Session on API documentation. He loves to learn new technical concepts, practice, and share with community.

All great sports teams have not only the best individuals, but they also have tried-and-true playbooks that everyone on the team executes. Business teams should be no different. So, we study how the best companies operate their teams and integrate these playbooks into every team we assemble.
Crossover studied hundreds of teams and merged their best practices for collaborating effectively and driving productivity.
The session explains how the company has transformed process documentation to enable multiple writers collaborate easily. Following components will be discussed in detail.
· Definition
· Playbook Structure
· Inputs & Outputs
· Blocker & Solutions
· Rules of Engagement
· Interaction Map
· Constant Process of Improvement
About the Speaker
Sandeep Kumar Maddineni is seasoned professional in technical communications with 10 years of varied experience in Customer Support, Content Writing, Technical Writing, and Instructional Design. He recently started exploring UX in Information Architecture. He is currently working as Knowledge Architect with Crossover and he’s got a side-hustle as Interior Designer.
About the Session:
Technical Writing is the FOUNDATION of all Knowledge based organizations. The best of knowledge
databases however, remained highly underutilized. Technical Writing in general is a very challenging area, as it generally tends to be business oriented and very transactional in nature, which makes it very “dry”. Difficult to create a proper flow with all relevant information and ensure clarity of data points.
Stake holders vary in experience and back ground and that adds to the challenge.
However, if we can weave story telling into the writing, it is feasible to get the information in, with
subtlety and make it interesting to all stakeholders.
The key is making it 1st person and 3rd person in tone, intermixing the two. This helps in connecting to
all the people that read and use the information provided.
In this session, we will take a quick look at different artefacts that are created – functional requirements to user guides to internal knowledge articles, which are probably the least appreciated.
We will see some very popular documents and how they achieved it through stories.
Also look at some of the challenges faced by the group and see how that can be addressed. The session
will be interactive.
Activity: We will take some samples from the audience and apply this principle.
