Hi,
In Word versions previous to 2007, we created custom toolbar buttons, for example, to run custom macros. We gave them textual names or graphical icons, or both. It was fun and simple.
In Word 2007, ribbons have replaced toolbars. Luckily, the custom toolbars that were attached to a pre-2007 template remain in the new version as a section of a ribbon called Add-Ins, and they still work.
However, we cannot find how to create new or change existing toolbar (ribbon) buttons.
For example, if one button ran a macro that inserted a formatted text version of the year, and when the year will change from 2009 to 2010, we would want to change the button to read 2010, not 2009. Perhaps we'd want to keep the 2009 and create an additional button for 2010.
Other than by keeping a version of Word 2003 or earlier, can anyone suggest how to make such ribbon button customizations in 2007? BTW, we don't want to use the Quick Access Toolbar for this purpose because we want to attach these buttons to specific templates.
Thanks in advance,
