Can send an email to get more volunteers.  Focus on 2nd 2 shifts.

Few people asked what is DS.  People were nice, not a huge crowd.  Main thing - we did not have cups, should always bring if we bring water jugs.  Medium low on MDMA cards.

Upcoming Events:
Remember to use the Post Event Form if you’re closing (or if there’s only one shift)

Waiting to hear about placement.

Quack will make signs about testing to put in portos.  Michelle to print or scan what Quack makes and print them if needed.  Michelle make a sign saying “DanceSafe booth will be staffed fully on Friday and Saturday night.  In the meantime, find Quack for testing.”

Booth open by Tuesday.

8 - 12

Fri shift
8 - 12: Karl, Pip

Sat shift

Van rental through Enterprise for $500 - $800 for the full week.  It would transport Haven’s gear, Quack’s gear, and DS gear. No one had any opposition to DS paying.  Haven will send DL info to Karl via Signal.  Karl will make the reservation with DS funds.

Hand-off of chapter kit from Karl to Quack before Quack leaves for Critical.  Karl will also put together a new chapter kit.

Might be nice to have a whiteboard.  Could give community info on what kinds of things have been tested and if they tested as expected.  Michelle posted on her Buy-Nothing group asking for one.

Training - IMPORTANT!

Please finish your DS Training, or start the process by going to DanceSafe.org/volunteer
Training required to volunteer!

Please be sure to fill out all forms, and you'll be sent an email from SignRequest to do your eSignature on your DanceSafe Volunteer Agreement

Training seems to be updated - recommend going over again! (repeated on 1/16)

Chapter Leads

Chapter Leadership Application

We still need one to two more officers! Please let us know if you're interested in applying. There is a link we can provide for the DS Nat’l application.

  • Roles Needed: Chapter Leads, Shift Leads

Tasks covered (not comprehensive):

- Meeting Planning/Note Taking

- Logistics (storing gear, making sure it's ready for a booth, accessing our storage facility)

- Finances

- Handle Square Reader

- Social Media

- DS Nat'l Meetings

- Promoter Contact

Shift Leads - new role, from DS. Folks that we could leave at the booth to leave it in 'charge.' Preferably have a vehicle to help transport the gear.

ADDITIONAL INFO: Preferably Karl will step down into an advisory position once one more chapter lead is instated.

T-Shirt Policy

While usually we’d like folks to wear both the badge and DS T-Shirt on shift, like before, exceptions can be made if you’re in costume for the event being worked, at the discretion of the chapter lead/shift lead.

Heather - M/L
Joules - ?
Pete - M

Pynk - M

Business

Materials

Pip has more boofing kits, snorting kits, nasal narcan, lube packets for Critical.

Storage Organization - Done!

Note: should check expiration dates of fire extinguishers, make sure we have enough latex free condoms.

Also need more pronoun pins! Pip has the button maker, Karl sent it the design files we had last meeting.  Pip will send Michelle the files that need to be printed in color.

Haven made a one-pager that gives the correct info for Fentnyl, Haven will see if we can make half of that into a ¼ page (would mean shrinking it a little and might be too small of writing).  Michelle will turn it into text for Haven to do more with.  Leads will mention to National.

Karl: (also we should bring that info back to National so they can correct, maybe send Haven’s writeup?)

Should NOT have xylazine strips on the table.  They are for opiods only so should be available only on request.

Michelle shared the flyer that Pip shared with her to see if we can print and have on our table.  (In the meetings channel).  Michelle will print and laminate.

Can we get benzo strips?  Quack will share more info on it.  Quack will check in with National about that.

Infrastructure

https://seattledancesafe.gay & https://seattledancesafe.org

  • Leads to: https://linktr.ee/seattledancesafe

  • Recruiting more volunteers!

  • Added email signup to linktree!

  • Membership drive?

  • Publicize Discord?

  • Maybe look for additional URL to buy?

Need separate volunteer bit.ly with:

  • Test kit info link

  • Fent Testing

  • Post Event Documentation Form

  • General Drug Info

  • DS Website

Karl still needs to work on this! Will reach out to folks (Michelle/Don) if help needed.

FTIR Testing w/ PubHealth

Thru Georgia! Best way is thru her work phone# and you can ask Karl for her number if interested. Texting thru Signal works too. Also calling is okay. E-spectronomy out on Thurs/Fri. At the Robert Clewis Center, Needle Exchange on 4th & Blanchard in Belltown. Downtown public health building - do FTIR, fent strip testing, but also access to GCMS testing thru U of North Carolina. Wed/Thurs/Fri, 9-5p.

Can test everything except weed and shrooms. Liquid is iffy, and LSD needs to be sent to the lab.

Can’t advertise too much, folks get some harassment sometimes for using services. :(

Also can go to PHRA (Fri/Sun afternoons)! Downtown Needle Exchange has drop boxes.

Covid Tests

Pip got a ton of COVID tests that aren’t far from expiring.

Next In-Person Meeting Location

Open call for locations…  Please post on Discord with ideas!

Next in person meeting would be July 3rd at 8 PM.  Preference for Cal Anderson again that day.

In-Person 7/3 8p
Cal Anderson - Quack will ask & confirm.
