Hello everyone,

 

I just wanted  to give you an update on what I will be working on for the presentation.  After my research, I decided to narrow my focus on the financial sector and how the federal government and private sector (ex. banks) are currently dealing with current threats (ex. distributed denial of services attacks, data compromises (Identity Theft) and Phishing Attacks).  In addition, I will focus on current federal and private sector policies, procedures, and techniques (ex. U.S. CERT, Security Awareness Training, Free Virus Scanning, International Risk, Resilience, and Response Center (IRRRC)) that are in place to mitigate the risk of such attacks and the problems associated with the implementation (ex. privacy and civil liberties).    And finally, I will discuss future defense strategies (federal and private sector efforts) being considered to combat future cyber attacks.
