Thanks a lot for the suggestion. Under different circumstances it
would definitely make sense to move to something like discourse.
Unfortunately at the moment the fate of statismo is not really clear.
There is currently not much effort that is put into it. The reason is
that many of the people, who were initially actively developing
statismo have moved away from C++ ITK/VTK. Our group at the University
of Basel is working now doing all the development with Scala, using
the Scalismo framework (
github.com/unibas-gravis/scalismo). Therfore,
until we have an Industrial oriented project that focuses again on c++
development, the resources that we can put into it are really limited.
If somebody would like to take the initiative to push statismo and
help to make it active again I would of course offer my support and
help for it. But with the current level of activity, I don't think it
makes sense to change the platform.
