The marble plaque commemorating the opening of the Manchester & Leeds Railway to Littleborough and thence through Summit Tunnel has been re-gilded by courtesy of Kilpatrick’s Funeral Services and will be unveiled on Thursday 5th July at 10 am.  FOLSs are putting on tea and biscuits in the recently opened Littleborough History Centre in the station building on Platform 2 afterwards to which you are all invited. If you haven’t yet visited the History Centre, bedecked in its Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway tan, chocolate and white colour scheme take this chance now. If you can’t make it the History Centre is open at weekends 10.30 – 4.pm (Sundays 11 – 3.30).
