The marble plaque commemorating the opening of the Manchester & Leeds Railway to Littleborough and thence through Summit Tunnel has been re-gilded by courtesy of Kilpatrick’s Funeral Services and will be unveiled on Thursday 5^th July at 10 am. FOLSs are putting on tea and biscuits in the recently opened Littleborough History Centre in the station building on Platform 2 afterwards to which you are all invited. If you haven’t yet visited the History Centre, bedecked in its Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway tan, chocolate and white colour scheme take this chance now. If you can’t make it the History Centre is open at weekends 10.30 – 4.pm (Sundays 11 – 3.30).
