The groundworks for the closed circuit television and the customer information screens started today, with trenches for the cables being cut along the platforms.

Jonty had a profitable conference at Milton Keynes recently and he is threatening a long report at the next meeting of FOLS on September 13^th., our AGM incidentally.

We’ve had a grant of £400 which will pay for one of the mosaics we plan to make for the station with Littleborough Community Primary School and await news of two more pending applications which will be decided in October. Two bodies have turned us down for grants on the grounds that they cannot fund work on stations and cannot fund work which will be done in school time respectively.
